NEW YORK NEW YORK

I've always been in interested of the idea of drawing with a white pen on black paper. Just a few weeks ago I was fortunate enough to have that opportunity when we went to Blick art supplies in San Diego. I got a bottle of Sumi ink (for other projects), a pad of Strathmore Artagain black paper, a Y&C Gel Xtreme 0.7 white, and a General's charcoal white 558 pencil. This is what came about with it. Definitely will do more like this in the future.

  1. Very cool looking... I have a white gel pen, but I am not particularly happy with it. What is Y&C? Maybe I should order one... do you think it would work on top of watercolor?

    1. Y&C was just the brand name they had. At first it worked quite well, but over time the white began to stand out less, making me having to go over the drawing more. Not sure how it would work with watercolors, unless they are dark colors it might be too hard to see the white. The pencil would probably be better for that.
